Wiring multiple can lights. Wiring a 3 way switch with multiple lights. This is due to the fact that the series of connections are basically one long electrical wire with several breaks that are connected together with wire. I like to use the term daisy chain. The most common is to daisy chain the light fixtures by connecting them to each other and hooking the first one up to the switch. Wiring a series of lights is similar to wiring only one light. In this circuit two light fixtures are shown but more can be added by duplicating the wiring arrangement between the fixtures for each additional light.
To make a daisy chain youll need a screwdriver a light bulb for each fixture and enough electrical wire to stretch between each of them. The other way to wire multiple lights to one switch is to connect all of them directly to the switch in a home run configuration. Most switches this one included have two gold screw connectors. The hotblack wire coming from the power source connects to one gold terminal while the hotblack wire going to the fixtures connects to the others. Here the source is at the first switch sw1 and 3 wire cable runs from there to the first light l1. Next up is the light switch and you can see that ive almost completed wiring the switch.
Installing multiple recessed lights in a series is not difficult at all and can be completed in a relatively short period of time. You can do this light switch wiring in one of two ways.
